This study was conducted to assess a possible correlation between anxiety and insomnia symptoms, specifically daytime sleepiness. Past literature suggested there is a correlation between anxiety and insomnia, specifically the symptoms related to daytime sleepiness. Anxiety levels among participants were measured using the Beck Anxiety Inventory, and daytime sleepiness levels were measured using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale. These two scales are commonly used in research, but no study was found to use both scales within the same study. Results of this study indicated that there was a significant, positive correlation between anxiety and daytime sleepiness due to insomnia.
